The French food composition databank is run by Ciqual in the Observatory of Food Nutritional Quality, unit of ANSES (the French agency for food, environmental and occupational health safety).

The mission of Ciqual is to collect, access and make available nutritional composition data of foods consumed in France.
CIQUAL collects data from many sources - laboratory, industy and literature - and produces average reference values for generic foods.
This site provides access the latest version of the French food composition data.
The nutrient datasheets present the contents of different components (carbohydrates, proteins, fat and fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, etc.) and energy values for each food. The data are always given for 100 g of the edible portion of the food.
The current version of the French food composition table is 2012 and contains average nutrient information for 57 components in over 1400 food items.

The foods were chosen primarily to interpret the recent French consumption survey (INCA2). On this website you can search for food data in the food composition table, where information can be viewed on the screen and printed. You can also order a set of data files for use on your own computer or in nutrient software.
