The Agency participates in multiple cooperative efforts aiming to develop or reinforce the expert opinion capacities and the scientific structures of the new member States of the European Union and third-party countries.
In a bilateral framework, in response to European call for tender or on solicitations by international organisations (such as the World Organization for Animal Health - OIE), the Agency becomes involved, frequently alongside the State's departments, in actions of scientific, technical, and methodological support with its foreign institutional partners.

The Agency represents France
· in the network of national assessment agencies on the risks associated with the safety of food and animal feed and with animal health and welfare, run by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
· in the network of national assessment agencies on human and veterinary medicinal products, run by the European Medicines Agency (EMEA)
The Agency has been appointed a “national Focal Point” for EFSA. In this capacity, we coordinate the exchange of scientific information with other Member States, EFSA and French bodies assisting EFSA.

· Plays an active role in the scientific assessment of files on medicinal products and the active substances of plant protection products
· Chairs and coordinates the MedVetNet network of excellence which gathers more than 40 European research organisations
· Participates in the Network of Excellence for Epizootic Disease Diagnosis and Control (EPIZONE) and European Food Information Resource Network (EUROFIR)
