The various food surveys (INCA 1, INCA 2, CALIPSO) meet the need for an updated database of food consumption patterns. This monitoring checks that the acceptable daily doses for additives, pesticide residues, environmental contaminants and any substance present in foods are not exceeded, deliberately or unintentionally. It also estimates whether the nutritional intakes are satisfactory or not.
These studies are key to assessing risks at the national and European level (a network has been set up by EFSA, in which Afssa participates for France) and enable the conformity of these to the safety limits to be checked.
This section groups together dossiers on the different surveys that the Agency is carrying out on consumption patterns.
INCA 2 / School meals: why is the Agency conducting these studies?
Studies like INCA 2 or school meals are providing scientific aid with national nutrition policy decisions on the one hand and health risk management decisions on the other.
